Finishing & Blocking

Finishing turns separate stitches into a polished piece. Leave tails long enough for secure weaving, join seams with even tension, and block for the yarn fiber.

Weave in ends

Thread the tail through the backs of several stitches, change direction, and avoid pulling so tightly that the fabric puckers.

Blocking methods

• Wet blocking: soak, gently remove water, shape, and dry flat.
• Spray blocking: pin to size and mist evenly.
• Steam blocking: hover steam above the fabric; never press or overheat synthetics.
